To ensure that your student is successful in Algebra I next year, the Math Department has developed an Algebra I Prep Course. This online course will help strengthen the essential prerequisite content knowledge for students enrolled in Algebra I in the upcoming school year.

Dacula MS is gearing up for this year’s summer reading program. The role of reading is an important part of students’ college and career readiness.
Summer is a great time to kick back and read a book! Participate in the summer reading program and keep a log of the books you read to earn DMS reading incentives.
Read 5 or more books and attend a back-to-school reading celebration.
Gwinnett County Public Schools will launch its Summer Meals Program on Monday, June 8.
Meals for anyone ages 18 and under will be available for pick-up only from June 8th through June 26th, Monday-Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 25 school sites. (On Thursday, meals will include meals for both Thursday and Friday.)
A child does not have to be a student at the school site to receive a meal; however, the student or child must be present to receive a meal.
Alcova Elementary School is the Dacula Cluster pick up location.
Gwinnett County Government continues to provide meals at 18 park locations.

Did you know that families can apply for Free and Reduced-Price meals if their household income has been affected by the current pandemic?
By signing up today, families can ensure their children begin next school year with these benefits. Additionally, this eligibility can be used to access other types of public assistance or services that may be available during this pandemic, such as low-cost internet services.
Fill out a Free and Reduced-Price Meal online application. Applications typically are processed within three days.

Under a state law passed by the Georgia State Legislature in 2007, parents of students who receive special education services may request to transfer their child to another public or private school in Georgia provided that their child has an IEP and has been enrolled for a full academic year in a Georgia public school.
Letters explaining this program, along with transfer request forms, are now posted on the GCPS website.
The Georgia Department of Education is required to survey parents of students receiving special education services each year. The survey is taken on-line and is accessed through the Georgia Department of Education Website. Survey responses must be submitted by June 30,2020. A copy of a letter to parents with directions on accessing the survey is attached. The letter is in both English and Spanish.
