Wednesday, May 26th
All devices checked out to students must be checked back in to the local school at the end of the 2020-2021 school year so that our Tech Team can begin preparing the devices for summer learning activities and the coming school year. This includes any of the following school owned devices: Chromebooks/Laptops, Power Cords, Web Camera, Hot Spots.
Please make sure that you check with your child to ensure that he/she is not in possession of a device that was not assigned to him/her. In such a case, it should be returned immediately.
When returning your device, please bring all components, including chargers and have the device fully charged and powered on in order to expedite the return process.
Devices will be assessed for damage upon return and fines may be assigned based on the damage in order to cover the cost of replacement parts and repairs. Fines can be paid at https://www.mypaymentsplus.com, by credit card or debit card, or check at the time of the return. If a device is returned in good condition, no fine will be assigned. Device services will be turned off and fines for replacing the device will be assigned if a device is not returned.

This summer’s learning experience for Gwinnett students has been redesigned to support our students who may have experienced learning loss due to the pandemic. The goal is to help students get a head start on next year’s learning.

As we prepare for the last day of school on Wednesday, May 26th, Gwinnett County Public Schools would like to remind families about the last days of meal service for this school year.
Elementary and Middle Schools:
At GCPS elementary and middle schools, meals for in-person learners and curbside pickup will continue through the last day of school (May 26th).
Limited distribution of meals to digital learners by bus will end on Friday, May 2st1.
High Schools:
Curbside pickup of meals at high schools will end on Friday, May 21st.
Limited distribution of meals to digital learners by bus will end on Friday, May 21st.
High school cafeterias will provide breakfast only on high school exam days, May 24th–26th.
Gwinnett County Public Schools: Information regarding meals during summer school and the K-8 Summer Enrichment and Acceleration program will be communicated with participating families. However, all GCPS families can take advantage of the curbside pickup service for children ages 18 and younger. The meals—both breakfast and lunch—will be provided at 27 middle schools from June 14 to July 2 between 11 a.m. to noon on weekdays. (All middle schools will participate except Five Forks MS and Jones MS, which are undergoing construction.)
Gwinnett County Community Services is offering free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches at 25 locations. Curbside pick-up of nutritious meals is for 18 years or younger or those 19 years of age or older with a physical or mental impairment. Please read carefully and contact the school if you have any questions about the upcoming pick up/return dates:
• Media Center books: All media center books needed to be returned by Friday, May 14th.
• Clinic medication: If your child has medicine in the clinic, you will receive a letter this week to set up arrangements to pick up any medication that is currently in the clinic. Medication will not be kept in the clinic during the summer. All medication must be picked up by Wednesday, May 26th. If you do not want to pick up the medication, provide this information when contacted. Any medication not picked up in this process will be discarded.
• Yearbooks: Yearbooks were distributed on Friday, May 14th. In-person students who purchased one will receive the yearbook in homeroom. Digital students, who purchased a yearbook, may pick up their yearbook at the DMS front desk May 14th – May 28th from 9:00 am– 3:00 pm. A limited number of yearbooks are still available for purchase. These will be sold on a first come basis.
• Report Cards: Final report cards will be mailed by the district. Parents are encouraged to continue monitoring your child’s grades through the parent/student portal.

Where: GCPS Virtual 2021 Transition Fair
Gwinnett County Public Schools will host the 2021 Transition Fair for students with disabilities, their families, and educators. Participants can now "drop in" to the virtual event to view pre-recorded sessions about community services and resources for young people who have disabilities and may need assistance as they transition to adulthood.
Attendees will have the opportunity to watch virtual presentations from local agency representatives regarding various options available for school-aged students as well as transitional services to post-school activities and employment. Presentations and resources will cover a number of topics, including day programs, community living supports, vocational and career services, transition resources, and recreation and leisure opportunities. For those who can't participate that day or who want to reference information after the event, links to the recorded sessions will be available on the website through May 26th.
