This week we are finishing our first unit and celebrating that we are all readers! Throughout this unit we have worked so hard on sounding out words in a book, identifying the first sound to help us read, as well as expectations for reading independently and with a partner.
We have also started reading level groups! Next Friday your student will come home with their data binder and in there you will see their beginning of the year reading level. To be on grade level at the end of the year, students should be at a reading level D or higher.
I can
I can complete my math report card assessment.
This week we are finishing our math report card assessment on composing and decomposing with objects and pictures. We will continue reviewing read, write, represent numbers to 10, comparing numbers within 10, and subitizing.
Our new learning will begin next week on geometry.
I can identify a government leader and explain why we have them.
This week we are learning the importance of rules in different places. Throughout the week we will be discussing rules we have at home, in our classroom, and community, and why they are important.
These are some additional word problems you can practice with at home to ensure students understand the concepts and strengthen problem solving skills.
