Welcome to Bringhurst! We are off to a great start! Thank you so much to all of you, Families for working with us as we try and smooth our systems.
As a reminder, the procedures for drop off and pick up each day are as follows:
Breakfast is served from 7:45-8:15 a.m. each morning. Parents of Kindergarteners can escort their child to breakfast and sit with them until they are finished eating and then walk with them to the Kindergarten area.
(NEW) Beginning on Monday, 1-6th grade Parents will not be allowed to enter campus when dropping off students even if they are eating breakfast. Please say goodbye at the gates.
(NEW) The gates from the Park/Playground will be closed until 8:10. Once the 8:10 bell rings, we will open the gates for morning recess. There is NO school supervision on the playground before 8:10. It is safest for students who arrive before 8:10 to enter campus through the main gate, wait at the picnic tables until the 8:10 recess bell rings. If you are waiting with your child on the playground/park area before 8:10, please be prepared to exit campus at 8:10. Supervision begins at 8:10 and it is very difficult for students to identify staff members when there are so many other adults in the area.
At dismissal we will continue to allow parents on campus 5 minutes before the bell rings. Parents/caregivers can wait at the picnic table area. Remember, no parents should enter any buildings unless you have signed in at the office and have a prearranged visit. Once you have your child, please exit campus immediately. We need to be able to quickly find any students not picked up and bring them to the office to phone home.
Please make sure you and your child have discussed your pick up plans. Do you plan to wait in the picnic table area? Do you plan to meet them in the loop in a car? Do you plan to wait in the loop area on one of the benches? A consistent, designated place helps everyone feel safe and secure.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation, patience and flexibility as we all learn how things will work best here at Bringhurst. Please help your afterschool care providers stay informed by forwarding a copy of this newsletter to them.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johanna White
Principal

A few reminders for the drive thru loop. Drivers should pull forward as far as possible to the red curb. Students should exit and enter the car from the passenger side only. Backpacks should be kept with the student and not in the trunk. Drivers must stay inside the car, we will help you locate your child and open the door if needed.
Beginning Monday, the loop will be closed until 2:47 p.m. You may not wait on Wisdom Road and back up traffic onto South Grimmer. You may need to drive around until the loop opens.
Beginning Monday, your child will be asked to provide their student ID to get their free breakfast or lunch. Students will have cards to give to the Kitchen staff, but you can help your child memorize their ID but working on it at home. You can find your child's ID number in your Parent Portal.
The lines may be extra long this week as we work through this new process, please let your child know to be patient.

We will report the positive case to our Covid Liaison Team and they will reach out to you with your child's earliest return to school date.
