Yeah about this, MOL: Beyond The Cosmos is a Sci-fi Fantasy novel made by me (Vincent) that was mainly intended to be a stand-alone series (was originally an actual generation) hence why It was called "The Multiverse Of Lore 2" for a while. The first writing of Vincent's arc dates back around May 3rd, 2022, while an earlier version of it was being made on Vincent's old school account. Another funny thing is that Vincent never actually read MOL at all when first writing the story, with some of the earliest versions saying stuff like Ethan was the creator (which an alternate version of him is apparently the MOL's true creator, as Ethan has multiple alternate selves yet to be fully accessed at the time of this entry), Utopia first being known as Rob__xia (STOP COPYRIGHT VIOLATING US), and Kaiden originating from the glitch (way to go Vincent). all of this stuff did get corrected later on though, so you don't have to cringe so hard anymore. Updates were very inconsistent because Vincent never worked on the story during the summer because he was lazy and kinda busy, but everything was put back on schedule in October of 2022. The reasoning behind all this was because some elements like the rectangle creatures, Vincent having electric powers, the VPS, and the main cast of Vincent's arc originate as far back as seventh grade (2020 and 2021). So seeing that Ethan put Vincent in the story, Vincent finally saw an opportunity for his hidden ideas to shine, and he even put a little teaser for his story in the original MOL doc, still saying it was MOL: 2. He is also planning for this to be a game and make an animated series out of it, which of course, is a stand-alone. So yeah, that's the messed up history of MOL: Discovery of Utopia, most of the ideas kinda plagiarized some already existing ones during eighth grade, but the way they're (eventually) put in the story make them seem a lot more original, so Ethan and Remy have nothing harsh to say. Sureeeeee...
Rob__xia --> Utopia: This wasn't actually because of copyright reasons, Rob__x actually put a rule where you can't have Rob__x In any of your games
Tribe Layout: This was taken from Trix-i-blox's (copyright, again) ultimate survival world, a Dig-build (of course that's used too so we use BuildDig) map that solidifies every aspect of the game on an island.
Elemental Tribes: A short time before Air and Rock became their own tribes, there were five elements planned for the story, Plant, Fire, Water, Ice, and Electricity, which are based on the online game Prodigy, a math-based RPG which was really fun. Prodigy also invented the Ice counters electricity thing, so there's that. (Ethan came along and started spamming the number eight everywhere.)
VPS: the idea of Vinvy's Protected Services was inspired by masterpieces such as (The Police from) Sr. Pelo's "It's Story Time" and "The Penguins of Madagascar Stop Rac-". The designs of the VPS are similar to the designs of Bloons Tower Defense monkeys since I liked the games so much, and because that was the only design I could draw.
Tribe leaders: The leaders of the elemental tribes were going to be based on my friends and their names were based off their online usernames since the main character was going to be anonymous. This was scrapped when the story transitioned into being part of MOL not to confuse the reader. (Then, Ethan used that concept for another universe full of gamers who would visit the MOL as an RPG, unaware they were sending their avatars to a parallel galaxy far, far, away. Isekai and Truck-kun coming soon. Never hopes.)
Scrapped Games: The First of the scrapped games was the idea of making an open-world exploration where the player goes on various adventures with strange characters. This was the original baseline for Vincent's arc, before being adapted into MOL.
Anthony's Revengeance: The word "Revengeance" isn't actually in the dictionary, the word was taken from MGR: R, which also has revengeance in the title. A lot of the foes Anthony (will eventually) fight are all based on characters from that game too.
Sauldeir & the first half of Exploration arc's finale: The inspiration for these comesfrom the popular tf2 animation "Pootis Engage" and "Pootis Engage: Extreme" by Ceno0. some of Sauldeir's lines are taken from those animations as well. (Wait who???)
The Space Forklift: While this idea is mainly original, the part of Vincent's ship being a forklift was loosely based on the viral meme "Eggman becomes forklift certified"
Element categories and element "Bonds": In DOU, there are a total of 16-something elements separated into two categories. (Not anymore! :P)
The Name Change: Beyond The Cosmos was Originally called MoL2 or 'Vincent's dumb lore' for a while. When asked for a real name, Vincent came up with 'Discovery of Utopia' on the spot and as a placeholder. This name would stay for a bit until Vincent realized that only half of the first generation focusses on Utopia, and they do explore the other universes waiting for our various protagonists. Beyond the Cosmos sounds cooler and that is a fact.
