Introduction/Philosophy

Kindergarten is an exciting year in a young learner's life. We envision this year to be filled with content-rich Units that embed vocabulary, Science, Social Studies, Comprehension, Writing, and even math! Knowing that children learn best through hands-on learning, well-chosen texts, cross-curricular connections, and experiences, the Kindergarten classroom is one where new learning is connecting and building on prior knowledge every day! Intentional fiction and non-fiction texts are critical to introducing students to new vocabulary and content, and students should be writing about and discussing their learning daily.
