Quarter 4 Focus
Through the fourth quarter, students will gain an understanding of how Kentucky was explored and settled during the Colonial Time period using the compelling question: What compels people to move to KY? They will consider advances and discoveries that helped make settlement easier with the Cumberland Pass and will learn about Pioneers like Daniel Boone through primary source letters and journal entries found in resources like: Boonesborough; its founding, pioneer struggles, Indian experiences, and Travels in American Colonies - Journal of Colonel Fleming from 1779-1780 .
Students might be able to take a trip to Fort Boonesborough State Park
Students will be skilled at:
