Social Studies

The fourth grade Social Studies curriculum is comprised of seven bundles of standards that focus on inquiry and explore the idea of Migration and Settlement during the Age of Exploration and the Colonial Period. Students will use inquiry to consider the disciplinary lenses of civics, economics, geography and history to explore the opportunities and conflict associated with early migration and settlement of the land that is now the United States in terms of voluntary and forced migration and the impact that it had on the Indigenous peoples and environment.
