GCSE Statistics is a compulsory subject at FGCS.
Through learning Statistics, students are introduced to the skills of statistical enquiry and practise the underpinning statistical calculations and interpretation using real world data and authentic contexts.
"The course consists of ten components that students need to secure to ensure they are on track to make the expected levels of progress:
Planning
Types of Data
Population and Sampling
Collecting Data
Tabulation, Diagrams and Representation
Measures of Central Tendency and Dispersion
Summarising Statistics
Scatter Diagrams and Correlation
Time Series and Estimation
Probability.
You will study and prepare for two exam papers. These will be from two tiers; Higher and Foundation.
Paper 1: 90 minutes
Paper 2: 90 minutes
Calculators are permitted for both papers and the topics being assessed are the same.
