We are delighted to showcase our world class curriculum and exceptional range of options available to our pupils to study in Key Stage 4.
This website will provide you with critical information to help you make informed choices with your child about their academic future. Deciding on options is a very important decision for you and your child to make. We've included all the key information for each course and contact information should you have any further questions.

Year 8 Parents Evening: Tuesday 27th February 2024
Options Submission Opens: Wednesday 21st February 2024
Options Submissions Close: Friday 1st March 2024
What do the different routes mean?
What do the different routes mean?
Students will be placed on different routes based on their target grades. Within these routes, students will be given a selection of choices for their options.
All students will study the core subjects.
In the case of separate and combined Science, the school will determine the best course for the student based on their pathway.
Based on their assigned options route, students will choose one option from each of the columns.
In the case of Modern Foreign Languages, students will be expected to take the language they have been studying since year 7 to ensure their best success at GCSE.

The subjects listed in this section are a mandatory part of our curriculum. Students will study these throughout their Key Stage 4 education.
In addition to these subjects, students also have a weekly session of Physical Education.

The DPR stands for the Dynamic Progress Reporting system. This system allows teachers, students and parents to engage in all aspects of a child's learning. Learn more about how you can be involved in your child's progress during their time at FGCS.
