All students are expected to take core subjects as part of their Key Stage 4 curriculum.
We also offer a range of academic and life skills courses for our SEND and EAL students.
These include Art, Food Tech, Sports BTEC, Step Up to English and ASDAN.
Other options are available and discussion with our SEND team is encouraged before selecting.
ASDAN Short Courses are flexible, portfolio-based programmes designed to accredit up to 60 hours of activity and skills development across a range of topics and curriculum areas. They include life skills as well as team work, research and literacy skills.
ASDAN is a great foundation level course for students who would benefit from small group work. They will be able to take these skills forward into their lives as they mature and grow.
Candidates complete a portfolio of evidence, generated from appropriate activities, which is internally assessed by our teachers. It is then moderated externally by AQA before the qualifications are awarded.
Where can this qualification take me?
ASDAN is a great foundation level course for students who would benefit from small group work. They will be able to take these skills forward into their lives as they mature and grow.
Step Up to English is a nationally recognised qualification which allows students to work on their core English language skills in a small group environment.
Step Up to English is an excellent course which gives students a strong foundation in English language and offers students the chance to work on their oracy and literacy.
Step Up to English is assessed by non-exam assessments up to 1 hour and 30 minutes
