Computer Science is the most rapidly evolving subject in the 21st century!
It is highly valued by sixth forms, universities and employers regardless of the course you go on to studying, as well as being part of the English Baccalaureate. Computer Science opens up doors to careers within many industries including banking, software development and cyber security.
You will continue developing your understanding of Python programming further, learn more about representing data in computers, how we communicate using computer networks and also cyber security, which is one of the most popular topics within the GCSE specification!
You will be examined on two separate papers focusing on theory and problem solving:
Computer Systems (theory)
Computational Thinking, algorithms and programming (problem solving)
Each exam paper is worth 50% of the final grade
Computer Science graduates at universities can enter into many career options ranging from:
Software developers
Cyber security specialists
Government roles, such as the NHS or HMRC
