These last few years industry and business have been asking for schools to teach more of the all important “soft skills” required in a working environment. These skills include confidence, articulation, team work and creativity.
The only subject that offers all of these skills to a high level is Drama. The methodology of working in a subject like Drama is recognised as being very close to a real working environment and something which academic subjects sometimes lack.
For the most part you will be creating your own work. Students will work as a group or individual to create a performance from stimulus to final performance including set, costume lighting and sound. You may choose, if you wish, to focus your GCSE solely on the technical options if you do not wish to perform.
