A parametric curve and a rectangular curve look exactly the same on the coordinate plane. Writing a set of parametric equations as a rectangular equation can be done with a method that is similar to solving a system of equations. Here are some steps that will help:
1) Isolate the parameter in one equation.
2) Substitute into the second equation.
3) Rewrite or simplify the second equation.
4) Graph the equation.
5) Determine the orientation.
