Given a circle with the vertex of an angle as the center of the circle, the distance from the center to the circle is the radius r. Since the circumference of the circle is 2πr, we know that there are 2π radians around the circle. Therefore, a rotation halfway around the circle would measure π radians and so forth.
Let θ be an acute angle of a right triangle. The six trigonometric functions of angle θ can be defined by the ratios of the sides of the triangle.
