Summer internships are generally from June to August. Recruitment should start as early as the Fall semester. It can start anywhere from 6 months to one year before an intern actually starts with your organization. Most companies post their summer internship opportunities in late fall or winter. The application process is typically open for students to apply for at least 30 days. Being late on the recruitment/posting of opportunities may result in missing out on exceptional students.
Plan to notify students through our website when we will begin to accept applications and when the posting will close. You can also notify career coordinators at schools that you have partnerships with by providing the job posting link on our website and any other relevant details. Schools may have their own timelines and guidelines for recruiting students. Be sure to have communications in place up to a month before the opening date to allow the school to share as much information with as many students as possible.
Timeline for Summer Internships:
Post jobs and start screening resumes September through November.
Initial phone screens by Recruiter/Store Manager should be conducted in October and November
Department Interviews should take place in November and early December.
Extend offers by end of December/early January
Start date is early June.
As we expand and grow this program, we would like to hire interns throughout the year including summer, fall and spring. We will update the timelines accordingly as the program develops.
