Our Summer Internship Program places interns in two different departments at Store Support Team or two different areas or roles a Fleet Feet Store, that align with the intern 's education and interests.
ROTATIONS AT A STORE
Each store chooses two rotations for an intern to focus on prior to posting the job description. That way when an intern candidate applies, they know more specifically what to expect from the internship experience. Below are rotations to choose from:
Retail Experience (training, people management, leadership skills)
Grassroots Marketing (medical outreach, workplace fits, etc.)
Training Programs (recruitment, retention, event management)
Digital Marketing (social media, newsletters, website)
Purchasing/Inventory Management (Basics of buying, learning sales reports, etc.)
WHAT MIGHT ROTATIONS LOOK LIKE AT THE STORE
Below are two examples of rotations that can occur in a store
Example 1
Week 1: Carrboro Visit (orientation, onboarding, setting goals, shadowing)
Weeks 2, 3, 4, 5: Retail Experience (staff training, merchandising, reviewing sales goals)
Weeks 6, 7, 8, 9: Grassroots Marketing (medical outreach, workplace fits, etc.)
Weeks 10: Review goal status; identify areas where intern would like more exposure or increased responsibility; focus on final presentation; present & celebration in Carrboro
Example 2
