A background check is a process a person or company uses to verify that an individual is who they claim to be, and this provides an opportunity to check and confirm the validity of someone's criminal record, employment history, and other activities from their past. Employers conduct background checks for a variety of reasons with the ultimate goal being to hire the best individual for the job and the organization.
Company Owned Stores:
For background checks initiated through our internal system:
Statuses of "Clear," "Engaged," or "Eligible": You are authorized to move forward with the hiring process.
Statuses of "Consider" or "Suspended": Do not proceed further. Instead, contact jobs@fleetfeet.com for review.
Important:
Do not attempt to investigate the matter independently. Only HR is authorized to review and clear background checks flagged with "Consider" or "Suspended."
Franchise Stores:
We are actively working to integrate background check capabilities directly into iCIMS for franchise locations. While this is in progress, franchisees have the option to use Checkr’s self-service platform:
If you're interested or have questions, please contact jobs@fleetfeet.com for more information and support.
SST/DC Teams:
For candidates joining our Store Support Team (SST) or Distribution Center (DC):
The Talent Acquisition team is responsible for initiating, processing, and reviewing all background checks.
Important Reminders:
Do not start a new hire until the background check is complete and clear unless approved by the Talent Acquisition Team.
If a background check is taking longer than normal (5+ days), contact jobs@fleetfeet.com to assist you.
We have been seeing a lot of major delays in certain counties which may determine if we can make an exception.
If we allow a new hire to start with an incomplete background check, you must have a minimum of two successful references completed and documented in iCIMS.
Background checks should not be conducted on minors under 18 years of age.
Do not process a background check for internal employees that are transferred or promoted into a new role.
