Navigating Summer School Options

SUMMER SCHOOL: FHPS SUMMER ACADEMY
Credit Recovery FHPS:
For students that have previously attempted and failed a course for high school credit.
Content instruction is delivered through the virtual learning system - Graduation Alliance.
A grade of “Credit” or “No Credit” will be issued for each course taken.
Cost is free of charge

Registration Begins: May 1, 2024
Registration Deadline: July 8, 2024
FHPS Support: Available Monday - Thursday, July 8 - August 8 and Friday August 9, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Support Location: Northern High School.
Important Note: ALL final exams must be proctored by an FHPS employee in the support lab on or before August 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
SUMMER SCHOOL: MYSCHOOL@KENT
Credit Advancement or Replacement: MySchool@Kent
For students who would like to take a credit advancement class and graduation requirement (ex. Health, PE, core class).
Content instruction is delivered through the virtual learning system - Apex
A letter grade will be issued for each course taken.

Cost is $250 per semester course.
Students wishing to use this option and have the course/grade placed on their FHPS transcript must fill out the Self-Paid Course Form

SUMMER SCHOOL: OTHER VENDORS
Students who are seeking summer coursework through another vendor should discuss this with his/her counselor before enrolling. Courses from an accepted vendor or institution outside of FHPS Summer Academy or MySchool@Kent must also be approved using the Self Paid Course form prior to enrollment. Any completed courses that were not approved in advance will not be included on the student's transcript.
