Create a Tryptic series of Phone Face - Funny Portraits by using your phone to Overlay Facial Features.

WHAT IS A TRYPTIC?
In photography, a triptych refers to a display of three images that are visually or conceptually related, typically presented as a single, cohesive piece of art.
Visual Harmony: Ensure the three images have a visual connection, such as similar colors, compositions, or subject matter.
• Composition: Arrange the panels in a way that emphasizes the connection between the images and creates a cohesive whole.
PHONE FACE TRYPTIC- FUNNY PORTRAIT INTRODUCTION
Phone Face involves strategically lining up one of your facial features alongside the same facial feature from your phone to create a funny portrait. You can replace an eye, nose, mouth, etc with an image on your phone.

PHONE FACE TRYPTIC - FUNNY PORTRAIT - GATHERING YOUR IMAGES:
THE MOUTH
On your phone, search up at least 3 photographs of a mouth. It can be any mouth as long as it is a photograph. close up or full face (you can crop the image in your phone if you need to)
Screen shot, download, or save the image to your phone any way you can.
Crop the image so that you can make it line up with that part of your face.
THE EYE(S)
On your phone, search up at least 3 photographs of an eye or eyes. It can be any eye(s) as long as it is a photograph. close up or full face (you can crop the image in your phone if you need to)

THE NOSE
On your phone, search up at least 3 photographs of a nose. It can be any nose as long as it is a photograph. (close up or full face (you can crop the image in your phone if you need to)

PHONE FACE TRYPTIC - FUNNY PORTRAIT - TAKING YOUR PICTURES:
You will need to partner up with someone!!
You and your partner will take turns taking pictures of each other.
Don't waste time!!! You only have today to take these pictures.
PHONE FACE TRYPTIC - FUNNY PORTRAIT - WHAT YOU SHOULD PHOTOGRAPH
3 mouth images that strategically line up and overlay your partners mouth
3 eye(s) images that strategically line up and overlay your partners eye(s)
3 nose images that strategically line up and overlay your partners nose
**All images must be taken in the same directions (portrait vs. landscape)
**Although you are making a tryptic, you will turn in all 9 of your images

Open Photoshop
Open your first image
Crop if you need to - you will need to crop all of your images to have the same amount of negative space around the subject. (even if that is zero negative space)
At the bottom of the layers panel, click on the adjustment tool - Black and White
Click on the adjustment tool again - Levels - Auto
Click on the adjustment tool again - Curves - Auto
File Export - Export As - Jpeg ****BE SURE TO CHANGE THE FILE NAME EACH TIME YOU SAVE AN IMAGE!!
Saved to your computer graphics (P) drive.
Do this will all of your images.
IN YOUR PORTFOLIO:
Create a new page and title it Phone Face
Insert the content block that has 3 images. Do this 2 more times to have a total of 9 image blocks.
Upload all of your images. Be sure to keep all the eyes images together, mouth images together, and nose images together.
Publish once finished... Don't turn in yet! You still need to create the tryptic.

Choose your favorite 3 images (they can be any 3 of the 9) Example: you could choose all 3 eyes, or you could choose 1 of each, or you could choose 2 eyes and 1 mouth. It is up to you....
Open Photoshop
Click on New File
Follow these directions if you took your photos in landscape orientation:
Setting up you canvas
Width 18 inches
Height 34 inches
Resolution 300
Choose black for you background color
Making your grid
At the top of the screen, go to View - Guides - New Guide Layout
Columns = 1
Rows = 3
Leave the Width and Height at 0
Make all of the Gutter (space between images) 0.5in
Make all of the Margin 0.5
Click the box to Center Columns
Click OK
Adding you images
File - Place Embedded (your 1st image) if you chose images that you have 2 of the same facial feature and 1 of a different facial features, put the different one in the middle.
Move the 1st image to the top of the canvas and align it so it fits withing the grid lines (like we did with the mood grid images)
If you have areas that are over the grid lines, select the marquee tool and click on the upper left of the grid line and drag to the bottom right of the grid line. Click on the mask icon.
Do the same thing to your 2nd and 3rd images.
File Export - Export as - Jpeg - Largest quality - Save to your (P) drive
Upload your image to your portfolio - The tryptic should go under the 9 images. Make it as big as you can.
Publish - Publish - Turn in via Schoology
