Fine Art Photography
Fine Art photography is photography created with the vision of the photographer as artist, using photography as a medium for creative expression. The goal of fine-art photography is to express an idea, a message, or an emotion. The basic idea behind the genre, is that instead of merely capturing a realistic rendition of the subject, the photographer is aiming to produce a more personal - typically more evocative or atmospheric - impression. One might simplify this, by saying that fine art photography describes any image taken by a camera where the intention is aesthetic focusing on the composition, focus, lighting, and feeling of the photo.
Snapshot / Candid Photography
A snapshot is an informal photograph taken quickly, typically with a small handheld camera. Usually, these photos are taken for documentation, most often without artistic or journalistic intent. These types of photos can depict family members, friends, pets, children, special events, and so on. Snapshots can be technically "imperfect" or amateurish: poorly framed or composed, can be out of focus, and/or inappropriately lighted by flash. Snapshot photography can be considered the purest form of photography in providing images with the characteristics that distinguish photography from other visual media. Notice the composition, focus, lighting and subject matter of these images.
