Top Photographer

OBJECTIVES: Students will… 

Watch "Top Photographer" (a limited reality series) in order to gain inspiration, view diverse photographic styles, and gain insights into the judging criteria and industry expectations. Then they will compete in a series of photography challenges.

Top Photographer is a reality show that takes place in New York City.  5 photography finalists will compete in a competition of photography challenges to become TOP PHOTOGRAPHER. Hosted by Nigel Barker, and featuring a variety of guest judges from the industry.

Watching "Top Photographer" can be beneficial for several reasons. It provides inspiration, showcases diverse photographic styles, and offers insights into the judging criteria and industry expectations. 

Inspiration and Motivation:

Seeing professional photographers compete and create captivating images can inspire students and motivate them to improve their own skills and pursue their photographic goals. 

Exposure to Different Styles:

Having industry experts like Nigel Barker, who has transitioned from model to fashion photographer, judge the challenges provides students with valuable feedback and guidance.

Each challenge will be a fresh restart, so no one ever gets truly “eliminated.” 

All photos will be compiled into a Google Form anonymously and sent to 10 volunteer staff members who will judge the photographs. 

They will look at the overall aesthetics, composition, and overall how well you completed the challenge prompt.
