INvestABLE Indiana, Indiana’s ABLE savings option, is a way for qualified individuals with disabilities to save money and not risk losing vital public benefits, such as SSI or Medicaid. This tax-advantaged savings option allows for individuals to save money and pay for disability-related expenses. The intent of an ABLE account is to ease financial burdens on individuals with disabilities and allow for tax-free savings to cover qualified expenses that include, but aren’t limited to: basic living expenses education, transportation, housing and medical needs. Contributions can be made by anyone, including the account owner, friends or family-allowing for more people to play a part in creating a better quality of life.
