Internal Monitoring: The What

The internal monitoring team may:

• Review Special Education documents to ensure 100 percent compliance

• Provide feedback to improve student services and outcomes for students with disabilities through recommendation of best practices

• Conduct a District Self-Review Summary

• Provide written feedback to special educators regarding statutory compliance and best practices for SWD

• Serve as a resource for staff members regarding compliance and best practices

• Provide input regarding needed professional development and coaching for all staff

• Provide monthly updates to staff at Special Education Department meetings regarding their findings
