Podcasts

Podcasts are a great way to learn on the go. With our busy summer schedules, this may be a great flexible option for you.  I have provided a list of educational podcasts, but you are NOT limited to this list. Please choose podcasts that are beneficial to the position you have or the position you would like to have.  To gain credit, simply complete this form. The form will require a link to the podcast (or title if I can find it) and  a short summary of what you learned from the podcast. For additional credit, you can submit any new activities, lessons, or a product that you created because of your new knowledge.  I will calculate the minutes spent listening and an estimate for any additional credit and place it in Eduphoria. (I may need to contact you to see how much time you spent on any products associated with the podcast.)

If you highly recommend the podcast you chose, I would love to add it to the list below.

Podcasts are available through various free podcast websites and apps including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. These can be used on any computer or mobile device.

Teach Your Class Off Radio features CJ Reynolds and his techniques for building relationships in the classroom. With over 250 available episodes, you can find the topics that will best support your classroom.  Reynolds also has a YouTube Channel if you prefer shorter episodes. His book Teach Your Class Off will be available for a book study as well.

Cult of Pedagogy by Jennifer Gonzalez has many resources on her website for blogs and podcasts. If you choose Blog there is searchable topics section and each blog article allows you to listen the podcast as well as provide additional material.

Sold a Story  was very popular in 2022. It discussed many popular reading curriculums that have been used over the years. It includes six episodes.

Published by American Public Media, Emily Hanford investigates four authors and a publishing company that have made millions selling reading programs that may not have been effective for all students.

Shifting the Balance was highly recommended to me by a respected Literacy specialist.  It is a book available for purchase, but the podcast promises to combine the Science of Reading with Balanced Literacy initiatives. There website provides additional resources along with blogs and videos.

Tina Boogren, also known for her work with High Reliable Schools, has become very popular for her Self-Care for Educators podcast.

You can also find her supporting educators on her social media platforms.

Angela Watsons Truth for Teachers: Real talk and practical from K-12 educators has podcast links and great articles. There is something for everyone. I personally took her online course for the 40 Hour Workweek and read her Fewer Things, Better book. I took away a lot of great tips for managing my time/calendar so it was more manageable.

Dr. Ross Greene has a podcast that follows the adaption of Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS). His book Lost At School is a book study option for Summer 2023.
