2024-2025
Our current calendar requires each staff member to attain 3 days or 18 hours of exchange time between May 25-August 11.
There are three types of professional development credit. They are independent of each other and you can gain credit in one, two, or all three at once.
Comp/Exchange Time: This is gained when you complete the PD credits outside of the school calendar dates. This includes summer, weekends, and evenings.Â
G/T Credit: These credits can only be gained when a PD notes G/T Credit. The training must include differentiation and extension through either depth or complexity for students. Some courses could offer optional G/T credit if a product is created that includes these dimensions. Each G/T certified educator is required to get 6 hours of G/T credit each year to maintain their G/T certification. You can gain these credits at any time during the school year.
Texas SBEC CPE: This is specific to certified educators. Certification renewal requires SBEC CPE credits. You can gain these credits through any professional learning opportunity at any time during the school year.
If you are taking college or certificate coursework over the summer, that counts as summer exchange hours. I can show you how to document your time in Eduphoria so you receive the credit needed.
If you need a different path to professional growth, I would be happy to help. You may have other areas of study that include text, webinars, or research that can be counted as exchange time.
