Lesson Plan Tips

Whether your materials are digital or printed, there is always a way to connect them to your lesson plans.

Create a Folder

You can create a folder for all of your lesson plan images so they are easy to find. This folder can be in the Lesson Plans Shared Drive for easy access.

Share Settings

Share settings can be complicated but they don't have to be.  You can choose to share with individuals or groups by entering them as "Add people and groups".  You can also adjust the General access link so anyone with a link can view or Jacksboro ISD can view.  Note: You do not need to make anyone else an editor of your images.

Google Drive App

Having the Google Drive app on your preferred mobile device is very helpful. You can take a quick picture and upload it into your Google folder. Once it is in a folder you can get a Share link and add it to any document.

Snipping Tool

The Snipping Tool app is a great way to grab an image from a digital document or website.

In your Windows Search box just type "snipping tool" and choose the app. Select "New" and create a box around the area you want an image. Choose the save icon to give a title and decide where you want the image saved.

Copy/Paste

Most of our curriculum materials have an online piece that will allow us to copy/paste into the lesson plans.

Option 1: Highlight your text then using the "right" click of your mouse, you can copy then move to your lesson plans and "right" click to paste.

Option 2: The short cuts for this are Ctrl+C for coy and Ctrl+V for paste.

Link Your Digital Documents

You can link any item in your Google Drive and even most websites to your lesson plans.

In Google Drive, you just select Share, adjust the link settings, and copy then paste on your document.

If it a website, copy the URL. (See above) Then paste the URL in your lesson plans. Anyone with login credentials to that website will be able access that webpage.

iPhone Notes

There is a handy dandy Notes app on your iPhone that will Scan Documents!! You can scan an item on your desk. The app will center and grab just the document and does a grab job of scanning it. You then save it and have the option to send it in an email or upload up to your Google Drive if you have that app.

Apple Link

Copier

Our large copiers are scanners. Once you log in, select scan. It will by default choose your email to send the scan. You can adjust the settings if you prefer a graphic (JPEG) instead of the defaut PDF. Either way, you can add it to your Google Drive then get  link for your lesson plans.

If you have not tried the scanner and would like some help, please let me know. I would be happy to come Scan with you.

Upload from Computer

In the Lesson Plan folder, you can upload directly from your computer.  You may notice in the image above that I added a folder (put my name on it) into the Lesson Plan Shared Drive. This gives me quick and easy access while I am doing my lesson plans.

While in that folder, I can choose File Upload and add anything to that folder from my computer. Whether you store items on your desktop or in downloads, they are quickly accessible (and backed up) if you add them to a Google folder.

Anytime you need help with filling out the lesson plan templates, please let me know. I can help you find a way that work best for you using your materials.
