Collaborating with school colleagues to enhance student, teacher, and administrative capabilities and improve student learning.
This guideline was probably one of the most important and easy ones for me to accomplish. I love working with others, and I love helping to improve student learning. These activities applied to this guideline because I was making sure these teachers and coaches were able to improve student learning, and help to make student learning more impressive and innovative.
I chatted with Shawn Wescott (Elementary Tech Coach) and asked him how he thought I could help the elementary STEAM*R program this summer. He said that I would be a perfect fit with some other teachers at Smithfield Elementary School. - Meeting notes to the right.
Matthew Trapp was our building substitute last year, and I got to work with him this summer on his sports STEM program. I re-created some Google Slide decks that he had and helped to reformat them for VIRTUAL STEM activities that he was doing over the summer. - Linked Archery to the right.
Chris Rogerson makes CDs each Earth Day and over the holidays, and I wanted to help her make this DIGITAL and not waste CDs and the paper sleeves they are in. So I have created this YouTube playlist, and I met with her to teach her how to do her own. She is VERY excited to change over so more people can enjoy her tastes in music. - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQNvh2rrPOKzRd8C4u-jUd5fB43beNgej
Jill Greenwood, Angela Schembeck, and I ran an EdCamp at ESU, and together we were able to get K-12 teachers and some professors to think more about education and how they can help their peers. I was super excited to help them put the EdCamp post-its together and really get some great topics to discuss in each room. I also helped with Prize Patrol at the end which brought a lot of smiles to people's faces.
