My name is Ricardo, I'm 17 years old, and I'm a student in the 12th grade at Loulé Secondary School. I enjoy programming, and I'm happy to have this opportunity with the Erasmus+ Project.

I've been playing handball since I was 10 years old. I was a federated athlete until I was 16, playing as a goalkeeper, but I also dabbled in chess and judo.

Trakai Castle: A medieval fortress on an island in Lake Galvė, Lithuania. Built in the 14th century, it's a symbol of Lithuania's history. Today, a museum, it offers visitors a glimpse into the country's medieval past.
The LFF Stadium, also known as the National Stadium of Lithuania, is an emblematic sports arena located in the capital city of Vilnius. Opened in 2004, the stadium serves as the home ground for the Lithuanian national football team and various local clubs. With a capacity of approximately 5,000 spectators, the LFF offers an intimate and vibrant atmosphere for fans, making every game an exciting experience.
In Lithuania, they often use potatoes in their dishes, and I want to try some of them, but I also want to experiment...
Virtiniai is a traditional Lithuanian dish, consisting of stuffed dumplings. Made with potato dough or wheat flour, they are cooked and served with various accompaniments.
Džiugas is a premium Lithuanian cheese, appreciated for its complex flavor and granular texture. Aged for long periods, it features notes of nuts and fruits, being used in various culinary dishes.
Most Beautiful Christmas Tree in the World:
In 2019, the city of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, was recognized by CNN as having the most beautiful Christmas tree in the world.
Basketball is the most important sport in Lithuania, having produced great players who have excelled at the European level and also gone to the NBA, such as Arvydas Sabonis, Šarūnas Marčiulionis, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and Jonas Valančiūnas.
Today was a busy day. We took the bus to Lisbon, then we took the metro to the airport, and then we spent the night on the plane.
We arrived around 5:45 in the morning in Vilnius.
We had the whole morning to explore Vilnius.
For the first day in Vilnius, it was an incredible day, and it's a city I want to get to know well.
In the afternoon, we went to the supermarket to do some essential shopping.
We had dinner at a restaurant called 7 Fridays and it was really good.

We had dinner at a very good restaurant.
She is a former NASA astronaut, and she showcased her life journey leading up to that point, as well as all of her missions at NASA.
I want to thank Linesa for providing us with the opportunity to visit the RoboLabas center and for giving us the chance to meet a former NASA astronaut.

We used the rest of the free time to explore Vilnius further.
One of the teachers showed their projects with vehicles made from various objects and had quite different ideas.
Another teacher showed his projects with remote-controlled boats and talked about some of his experiences in championships related to that.
The meals today were very good. We ate at the restaurant near the internship location and one near our hotel.
We had breakfast at the hotel, it was very tasty.
We had lunch at the same place as before, at the restaurant next to the internship site, and like before, the food was delicious—one of the best restaurants here in Vilnius.
Dinner was a bit more indulgent, but it was good.
We started building a website for the European Union project Science on Stage, but it's only for Lithuania.
We visited the outlet the structure is completely different from Portugal but it had good prices and a lot of variety and good brands
We went to the laundry it was complicated we spent 2 hours inside and it started raining on the way back with the clothes and we were still 1 km away from the hotel and the laundry has a Star Wars artwork done by an artist from Lithuania, I think. .
We visit one of the biggest malls in Vilnius

It's quite high at the top of the castle you can see the whole city from up there, and it has an incredible feeling at the top.
In the morning, we went to the tower. We had to climb the hill to get to the tower, and it's tiring to climb.
There are many paintings and statues inside the church they are quite old
Before lunch, we visited the inside of the cathedral; it's very beautiful with plenty of ancient artifacts. It's a place I recommend everyone to go, and it's also free.
The museum was amazing, it was different, i had never seen anything like it. I recommend everyone to visit it
We had many examples of illusion; it was completely different. It must be very expensive to have those objects of illusionism.
The teacher Eglé told us that there would be an aurora borealis at night. We waited, but we didn't see anything.
Today, on the 12th, our colleague Mateus turned 17, and we surprised him.
We take ltg train to trakai at 11pm and the trip was quick
The city of Trakai is very beautiful the houses are quite elegant, and the lakes have sparkling water.
The sun was also shining that day. The streets are a place where I want to return someday.
We saw something new , benches on the road, something you don't see in Portugal, and it was quite funny.
We had lunch at a restaurant in the city of Trakai. The food was very good, but not too expensive, and the accompanying vegetable was really tasty.
After lunch, we arrived at the main attraction of Trakai , the castle. It was really cool.
Inside the castle, we saw the decorations that the kings had in their rooms, various statues, paintings, and even precious stones.
There were several traps for invaders, execution machines, and prisons.
We took a one-hour boat ride around the castle, passing under the bridges. It was an experience to remember for life.
For dinner, we made it at home, something similar to carbonara cooked by Chef Menelik.
We continue working on the website for the Science on Stage Lithuania project.
We had lunch at the same place as always, and as always, it was amazing. A restaurant I always want to go to.
After the internship, I went back to Akropolis to explore the shopping better.
We had dinner at +++ which is one of the restaurants we frequent the most here in Vilnius. It's quite good and cheap.
I made my breakfast with eggs, grated cheese, and bacon. It was delicious; I'll make it again tomorrow.
We continue to develop the website for Science on Stage Lithuania.
As always, we had lunch at the same restaurant, but it’s so good that I want to go there every day.
We went to some public basketball courts in Vilnius, played with several people, and learned from them since basketball is their main sport here.
At dinner, we ate again at +++. I have been trying a new dish every day, but this one was so good that I should have it again on other days.
As I said yesterday, today I was going to have the same breakfast again, and I did. It was very good.
Today I also wanted to try the soup, and it is very cheap and very good.
Before we left, Professor Eglé gave us a snack to eat and to discuss other matters.
After the internship, I went to a shopping mall called Cup, a shopping center near the internship location.
While I was walking around Vilnius, I found a graffiti that said the word 'love' in Portuguese.
We had dinner again at the same place yesterday. It was the place where we found the cheapest and good food.
We continue to work on the website for the Science on Stage Lithuania project.
After internship we take ou timer to exploring Vilnius better
We found the LFF Stadionas the biggest football stadium in Vilnius and is the stadium used by national team of Lithuania
Today we have more time to do the breakfast so we cook a few things
We went to the laundry to wash our clothes
While we were waiting for the laundry to finish washing, we visited a game store near the laundry.
We had lunch at a restaurant that Professor Paulo recommended to us. It was very good and cheap.
In the afternoon, we visited the Vilnius Museum of Electricity, which was the first power plant in Vilnius.
We had an event about some inventions by the Serbian inventor, electrical engineer, and mechanical engineer Nikola Tesla.
Today, there was a presentation about some of Nikola Tesla's inventions. We went to see it and tested some of the machines.
Later, at 5 PM, we went to the escape room. It took us an hour to complete. We don't have any photos because it wasn't allowed.
Today, there was a music festival here in Vilnius, and it was pretty cool.
The music was good, but I enjoyed it more at the end of the day when there were DJs; it was more fun.
Today we had more time to explore other places to have dinner thanks to the festival. We walked around Vilnius a lot and found a kebab place called Jammi that was really good and cheap.
We spent the whole afternoon in Kaunas. It's an okay city, but I don't know if it's because it was Sunday, but compared to Vilnius, I liked Vilnius much more.
Near the train station, there was a shopping center called Akropolis.
We went to Jammi again for dinner, we liked it a lot. But today, we ordered takeout and brought it home to eat leisurely because we arrived late from Kaunas and almost everything was closed.
We had lunch at the usual place, and as always, it was very good.
I continued working on the website for the Science on Stage Lithuania project, and it's almost finished.
I continued to explore Vilnius and discovered more places in the city.
While walking around Vilnius, I found a restaurant called Čili Pica. It had pizzas, pasta, traditional Lithuanian dishes, and was inexpensive. We plan to go back there on other days.
We had lunch at the same place near the internship site. Today, there were spinach dishes, but it was just as good as the other days.
We had dinner again at Čili Pica, tried something different, and liked it too.
Professor Eglé gave us a traditional Lithuanian cake called šakotis, and it was very good. I had been interested in trying it, but it was very expensive.
We found a really cool clothing store called Snyks, but it was quite expensive.
I continued to explore the city better with the goal of getting to know it completely, and I think I now know almost the entire city, at least the best areas.
We ordered food to be delivered again because we found that it's cheaper than going to a restaurant.
Today at the restaurant where we usually have lunch, there was a traditional Lithuanian soup. I wanted to try it, and it was very good.
As usual, after the internship, I always took a walk to discover new places.
We decided to return to +++ on this day because it is one of the best restaurants we know.
Teacher Eglė made some pastries for us for lunch, and they were really good.
The old astronomical observatory of Vilnius University, opened in 1753, and the new University observatory near Vingis Park, built in 1921, gradually appeared inside the city of Vilnius where conditions turned out to be unsatisfactory for astronomical observations.
I want to give credit to the guide. They spoke English very well, so we understood everything, and they explained things very clearly.
The guide said that there was only one Lithuanian astronaut, and he never made it to space because he unfortunately died in an aviation accident.
We ordered food again because we saw that it would be cheaper than going to the restaurant.
Since we couldn't go to the laundry yesterday, we had to go this morning.
Lunch
We had lunch at a place near the laundromat. It wasn't bad, but we won't go back there.
In the afternoon, since we didn't have anything planned, we went to explore and see what was happening in Vilnius.
The Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights in Vilnius is dedicated to displaying artifacts and records from the 50-year period of Soviet occupation in Lithuania
The prisons had very poor conditions for the people who were imprisoned. There were cells with only a bench, but the prison seemed to be very secure. It must have been difficult to escape from there.
In this room, we watched a video showing that Pope Francis visited here and prayed with this candle when he was at this museum
There were also cells outside that literally only had a bench, and it was very difficult to escape from them
After the museum, we went to have lunch at the CUP shopping mall
For dinner, we ordered food again because it was cheaper
Today, Monday, May 27, 2024, was the last day we had with Professor Eglė as she had to travel the next day
I want to thank Professor Eglė for recommending various places for us to visit in Lithuania, taking us to the observatory, the escape room, and to see the astronaut, and for always being available for us
I wish her the best of luck and hope she achieves all her dreams and goals
Lately, we've been ordering food almost all the time because it's cheaper, and we get to try different things
As usual, after the internship, we took the opportunity to walk around Vilnius
We found another outlet in Vilnius, and it is much better than the Outlet Park we saw a few weeks ago
Today, we went out to eat and again at +++.
We are in the final days and are finishing the remaining tasks
We ordered food again because it was cheaper.
Today was the last meal at the restaurant near our internship place. I enjoyed every meal I had here; they were always well made. Thank you to teacher Eglė for choosing this place for us. It was undoubtedly worth every cent spent.
Today was the last day, and we had to pack everything up. We had to help our colleague Menelik arrange the computers, as there were around 30 computers.
After the internship, we went for a walk in Vilnius again. I went to Vilnius Outlet again to see if there was anything worthwhile.
Today, we welcomed Professor Ricardo Jacob, who will guide us back to Portugal. However, he will stay with us in Lithuania until Saturday.
We took Professor Ricardo to visit some of the best shopping malls in Vilnius so that, as he will be in Lithuania for a short time, he can see the best things right away.
We went to eat at the shopping mall, and I ended up eating at Subway, which was a restaurant we liked.
The last dinner in Lithuania was at the same place where we had the first meal in Lithuania. The first time, almost no one liked it, but later we all ended up liking it, and the professors were right to recommend this restaurant the first time. We had chosen the wrong dish before, but when we chose the right one, that's when we enjoyed eating at Bernelių Užeiga.
Today, since we were going to have lunch later, we took the opportunity to eat everything left in our rooms.
We said goodbye to our room, where we stayed throughout the whole month of this fantastic adventure.
For our last meal, we went to 7 Fridays, a restaurant that we really liked in Lithuania, and we had to eat there one last time.
Lastly, we said goodbye to the city and waited for the bus to take us to the airport.
It's the end of our journey in Lithuania. It was an incredible month, something I will always remember. Every day, I wanted to make the most of it, a unique experience that I would like to have again in the future. And one day, when I'm older, I want to come back and revisit this incredible country called Lithuania.
We only arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the 2nd and went to bed late, but we woke up early to make the most of the remaining hours in Lisbon.
We went to Colombo and on the way, I ended up passing by the stadium of Sporting Clube de Portugal 🦁, the club I support.

We took the FlixBus back home, and thus ended this adventure
This adventure has come to an end. It all started in Faro to catch the bus. I was excited but nervous because it was something I had never done before. However, during this whole month, I learned a lot, and tried various new things, something I never thought I would do. Every day was something new, something I learned, something that made me evolve and make the most of this experience. I want to thank Teachers Duarte Duarte and Paulo Ribeiro for making this happen. Without them, none of this would have happened, and I hope they continue their work so that more young people like me can have this opportunity. I also want to thank Professor Ricardo Jacob for helping us on the journey and for accompanying us on these final days. I want to thank Professor Eglé and her colleagues who helped us during our stay there and gave us several opportunities to discover new things.
