After school, we headed home. As we approached our room door, we noticed that the cleaning lady was tidying up our space. Deciding to give her some time to finish, we opted to visit the nearest mall, River in Kaunas. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the mall and, after about 40 minutes, we decided to return home.
On our way back, we spontaneously chose to stop by Lidl for some shopping. After completing our purchases, we headed home.
Today marked our itinerary to visit yet another informatics company, leading us to rise bright and early at 7 AM for an expedited arrival. Upon reaching our destination at 9:30 AM, a 30-minute window opened up, providing us with the freedom to explore at our leisure. Opting to capitalize on this time, my companions and I decided to unwind at a nearby café, indulging in a delayed breakfast while catching up on the morning's events.
Following this, we entered a substantial building to acquaint ourselves with the facilities of 'BlueBridge,' an informatics company renowned for its comprehensive approach to addressing various challenges in the informatics realm. Whether the concern is data security or leaked information, BlueBridge stands out as the go-to team for adept assistance.
Inside the building, we participated in a meeting where a key figure within the company illuminated us on its operations, shared personal experiences, and delved into the journey of finding passion within the informatics field. The session was not only informative, but also captivating, providing valuable insights into the practical facets of working in the informatics industry. Notably, a colleague posed insightful questions that further enriched the discourse.
To our surprise, we discovered that the company's core activities do not predominantly involve programming; rather, they specialize in managing programs like Windows and Linux servers. This revelation highlighted the multifaceted nature of informatics, emphasizing the pivotal role of data security—an aspect often underestimated.
The visit to BlueBridge proved to be both enjoyable and enlightening. Post-departure, we collectively decided to explore St. Anne's Castle, seizing the remaining time before our departure. Guided by our driver, our journey to the castle was swift, involving a bit of walking that was ultimately rewarding. The castle, both externally and internally, emanated a captivating charm.
For a modest fee of 5€, we secured entry to the castle grounds and exhibitions. Our initial stop took us to an exhibit on the left, showcasing a fascinating array of artifacts and items from the history of the region, including fans and canes. The quality of the exhibits was truly remarkable, leaving me captivated by the rich history on prominent display.
Later in the evening, at 21:00, we convened for a scheduled call with our esteemed teacher, engaging in a comprehensive discussion that delved into the nuances of our current presence and participation in the given context. The conversation unfolded as an invaluable opportunity to exchange insights, share perspectives, and deepen our understanding of the subject matter at hand. As the clock struck 9:00 PM, our virtual meeting served as a platform for collaborative exploration, allowing us to navigate the complexities of our collective experience in this particular setting. Through thoughtful dialogue and the exchange of ideas, we actively contributed to a richer, more meaningful engagement with the material, fostering an environment conducive to intellectual growth and mutual understanding.
On the 23rd of December 2023, I had the luxury of sleeping in a little longer than usual, and you know why? It's the weekend, (SATURDAY) The prospect of a relaxed morning filled me with joy, In fact, it was really a proper breakfast at all.
By 2:30 PM, the agenda shifted to preparation for an exciting outing. The decision had been made the day before - a trip to a trampoline park for some wholesome fun. However, the journey to the trampoline paradise took an unexpected turn. Public transportation adventures ensued when inspectors boarded our bus, diligently checking everyone's tickets. I proudly presented my digital ticket from the Žiogas app, only to be met with scrutiny due to my international student identity. Alas, the consequence was an additional euro out of our pockets, a small price to pay for bureaucratic encounters.
Despite the minor setback, the trampolines awaited our arrival. Excitement built as we approached the counter, only to be informed that an adult companion was a prerequisite for entry. Our enthusiasm deflated momentarily, and the next chapter of the day was left hanging, much like the unexplored potential of the trampoline adventure.
Today, we embarked on a culinary adventure, choosing to craft our own delightful meal. Our menu featured a trio of delectable dishes:
Carbonara:
In the heart of our kitchen, we concocted a classic Carbonara, a timeless Italian pasta dish known for its rich and creamy sauce. The velvety amalgamation of eggs, cheese, pancetta created a luscious coating that clung to each strand of al dente spaghetti. The result was a symphony of flavors that danced on our taste buds, a testament to the culinary finesse we brought to our home-cooked creation.
Supermarket Frozen Fries:
As a delightful accompaniment, we opted for the convenience of supermarket frozen fries. These golden batons, perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, added a satisfying crunch to our meal. Effortlessly prepared, they complemented the indulgent Carbonara, offering a delightful contrast in texture and a touch of simplicity to our culinary ensemble.
Supermarket Frozen Georgian Khinkali:
Our culinary journey took an international twist with the addition of frozen Georgian khinkali. These dumplings, reminiscent of the traditional Georgian cuisine, brought a burst of flavors to our table. Filled with savory goodness, the khinkali showcased a unique blend of spices and ingredients, transporting us to the vibrant streets of Georgia with every bite. The convenience of the frozen variety allowed us to savor this exotic treat without the need for intricate preparation.
As we gathered around the table to enjoy our homemade feast, the fusion of flavors and textures created a dining experience that was both comforting and exciting. Our decision to take on the role of chefs for the day resulted in a memorable meal that satisfied not only our hunger but also our culinary curiosity.
Marry Christmas!!!
On our much-needed day of relaxation, we made a conscious choice to embrace ease and comfort, opting for the convenience of food delivery to indulge in a leisurely feast within the confines of our home.
Personally, my culinary desires led me to select a delectable combination of a mini pizza and a tempting portion of sushi.
The experience unfolded as a symphony of flavors, as we savored the diverse taste profiles of our chosen dishes, all within the cozy and familiar surroundings of our home.
In this simple act of ordering in, we transformed our day off into a culinary adventure, relishing each bite and creating cherished moments without the usual stresses associated with meal preparation.
Today we opted to spend the morning at home, and as the afternoon approached, we made our way to the bus station. Choosing to head to Alytus, we secured bus tickets and set off at 3:15 pm. The journey was serene, with picturesque landscapes unfolding before us. Upon reaching our destination, the evening had descended, prompting us to check if the museum was open. Regrettably, it was closed, leading us to devise an alternative plan.
Opting to explore the city, we embarked on a leisurely stroll. Growing hungry and mindful of our 7 pm bus departure, we decided to dine at a local pizzeria. The menu featured pizzas in two sizes, 36 and 42, priced at 6 euros, and the larger option at 8 euros. The pizzas proved to be a delectable delight for the cost. After satisfying our appetites, we meandered through the city park, capping off a day of exploration and culinary enjoyment.
In this image, as evident, you can observe the information center. The photograph captures a clear view of the facility, standing prominently within the scene. The presence of the information center suggests a focal point for guidance and assistance, possibly serving as a hub of essential details for visitors or locals. The image invites curiosity about the services and resources offered at this central point, making it a potential starting point for exploration or a source of valuable information within the depicted setting.
This is the bus we took from Kaunas to Alytus. The journey offered a blend of urban and scenic views, allowing us to appreciate the transition from one city to another. As we settled into our seats, the anticipation of exploring Alytus grew. The bus ride provided a convenient and comfortable means of travel, allowing us to relax and enjoy the passing landscapes.
Upon reaching Alytus, we disembarked with a sense of excitement, ready to immerse ourselves in the charm and attractions the city had to offer.

New Year's Eve Celebration and Surprise Birthday Party for Raul
Introduction:
New Year's Eve took a special turn this year as we celebrated not only the arrival of the new year but also Raul's birthday. The highlight of the day was the surprise party we meticulously planned for him, complete with party hats, whistles, and a delicious cake.
Shopping and Surprise Party Preparation:
Separated into groups; Raul and some friends went to Akropolis for gift shopping and food.
Seized the opportunity to buy supplies for Raul's surprise party under the guise of shopping for a "secret Santa" gift.
Back home, immediately began preparations, including inflating "Happy Birthday" balloons, which turned out to be time-consuming.
Successfully convinced Raul and Tomás to join in the supermarket run, providing the others with more time to finalize the party arrangements.
Surprising Raul:
While at the supermarket, intentionally stalled to buy additional time.
Returned home to find the surprise party successfully executed; Raul was genuinely surprised and pleased.
Raul shared the moment with family and friends over a phone call, followed by a pizza dinner.
New Year's Countdown:
As the night progressed, the group split into those staying at home and those venturing out to witness fireworks.
Those who went out faced disappointment due to obstructed views caused by buildings.

Conclusion:
The day unfolded as a delightful combination of celebrating Raul's birthday, preparing a surprise party, and ringing in the New Year with friends. Despite a few challenges, the joy and camaraderie made it a memorable and festive occasion.
Unique New Year's Experience Away From Family
Introduction:
This New Year's marked a significant departure from tradition, as it was the first time I celebrated without my family. Surprisingly, the closeness I've developed with my friends made the experience less unusual than anticipated.

We collectively opted to embrace the day by having a late start and heading out to a nearby ramen shop for lunch.
Despite approximated less than 40 min to wait for our orders, we made the most of the time, engaging in conversations and entertaining ourselves on our phones.
Ramen choices were mostly pork-based, with my personal preference being chicken. The meal was a sensory delight with tasty meat and flavorful ramen noodles.
City Exploration and Future Plans:
Following our satisfying ramen experience, we strolled around the city, taking in the surroundings on this holiday when most places were closed.
Plans for the following day included a visit to an intriguing museum near our residence, adding a sense of anticipation to our New Year celebration.
Laundromat Adventure and Dinner Plans:
Some of us seized the opportunity to clean our clothes at the laundromat, while others, like me, chose to stay home.
A casual lesson in API theory by Santiago turned into a lighthearted and entertaining diversion.
Conclusion:
While the day may not have been packed with events, the camaraderie and new experiences made it enjoyable. The ramen adventure was a standout, particularly for someone like me who had never tried ramen before. Despite the simplicity of the day, the shared moments and unplanned activities contributed to a memorable New Year's celebration away from family.
