Emanuel encourages me to achieve my best even when it requires me to step out of my comfort zone.

Sasha feels that throughout her time at Emanuel she has been surrounded by people who care about her and always want her to achieve her best.

Sasha has been able to foster her love of Mathematics and is particularly proud of finishing the Kumon Mathematics Course in Year 9 and continuing to accelerate in Mathematics Advanced and Mathematics Extension 1, achieving a Band 6/E4 in both in 2019.

She will always appreciate the incredible opportunity to experience and learn about Israeli culture and life on Chavayah. She also developed a greater understanding of the unique culture of the Aboriginal people while on the trip to the Northern Territory and Jilkminggan.

She describes herself as a self-motivated, organised but spontaneous student, who is always prepared to step out of her comfort zone and try new things. She believes that her teachers would second this, while noting she makes brave choices, has a strong voice, stands up for what she believes in, and has learnt the value of resilience and perspective over the past year.

Her peers recognise her immense talent as a mathematician, matched by her willingness to support those who may need help with the subject. She is caring and humble, always dedicated to her friendships and studies. Sasha commented that dancing and singing songs each Shabbat reinforced the deep sense of community that she felt at school.

Sasha plans to explore different study paths, looking at a degree that encompasses her love of Mathematics. She is also excited to travel when possible.
