Started at Emanuel in 2008

Awards: Academic Progress Award, Contribution to Hospitality, Contribution to Sport

Emanuel School is an inclusive school with a fun atmosphere. Friendships and connections are encouraged across all Year groups and with all different kinds of people.

Gabriella (Gabi) has embraced her time and opportunities at Emanuel School by working hard and using her determination, unique spirit and tenacity to achieve her sporting goals.

Gabi’s sporting achievements are extensive and reach far beyond breaking many school swimming records. She has particularly enjoyed taking part in Swimming and Athletics carnivals. She was School Age Champion for swimming and athletics in Years
3-12 and represented Emanuel School for swimming as well as basketball and cross-country at Representative level. Amongst many other achievements, she swam at the Australian Age Nationals 2018-19
, was a NSW State finalist from 2017-19, successfully competed at the most recent Maccabiah Games in Israel, and competed at the Pan American Maccabi Games in Mexico in 2018, where she won many medals. Beyond the swimming pool, Gabi loves the uniqueness of Emanuel and will always remember the infectious school spirit, particularly at Shabbat Ruach.

Gabi hopes that besides being recognised for representing Emanuel as an elite swimmer, she will also be remembered for her fun and outgoing spirit and how she has remained true to herself. During her school years she has learnt to manage her time, try new experiences and meet her many commitments. She is grateful for her teachers’ support and encouragement.

Her peers describe her as a carefree spirit with a great sense of humour. She is always positive and manages to maintain a balance between her sports and other commitments with a smile.

Gabi wants to attend university to study Sport and Exercise Nutrition and aims to compete in the Maccabiah Games in 2022.
