Nowruz - A Special Day for Me

Every year in the spring we have an important holiday called Nowruz. It is our New Year. I celebrate Nowruz with my family and relatives in Afghanistan. Everyone in Afghanistan or people from Afghanistan living in other countries buy new clothing for the whole family. Boys buy new leather shoes and new clothing like a colorful vest. Girls buy beautiful colorful dresses with pants. All of the clothing is colorful and beautiful. We visit our families and close friends during the holiday.

Some people stay home to wait for their guests to come. People usually visit their relatives during Nowruz and if someone comes to your house, you have to have a lot of good things to eat and drink for them. Sometimes we have 10 guests with all of their children. They can come any time during the holiday.
