In a town in Colombia named San Martín de los LLanos, every year a festival called the Cuadrillas de San Martín is celebrated.
This show of horsemanship is considered a cultural heritage of the nation and the main attraction of the festival. It is made up of about 50 horsemen divided into 4 groups, who relive with choreography the struggles between Moors and Christians as well as indigenous people and blacks. Some groups fought for freedom and others for colonization and its wealth.
During this festival the following are also held: the International Reign of the Llano, the National Bullfighting Tournament "Estribo de Oro", the International Joropódromo "La Cotiza de Oro", Concert of national and international orchestras and artists, and the Equine and Gastronomic fairs.
