Objectives: Use clay to create a carved plaque incorporating personal interests while using clay sculpting techniques.

Assessments: Students will gain clay carving techniques. Students will apply the elements and principles of art to their carved plaque.

Objective(s): Create a coil project- slab for the base, rolled coils, twisted coils, snail coils, tear drops, and other coils that complete the coil project.

Assessment(s): Complete a coil project- slab for the base, rolled coils, twisted coils, snail coils, tear drops, and other coils that complete the coil project.

1. Slab Project. Research and come up with ideas to create a work of art using slabs.

Homework: Search and sketch project ideas.

Objective(s): Students will construct a clay base, clay slabs and use the slip and score method to assemble slabs.

Assessment(s): Students constructed a project by using slabs of clay.
