Day 1

Activities:

1. Introduction and course expectations. 

2. Make Portfolio to store work in. 

Objectives: Become familiar with the course expectations & projects. Use the Portfolio to store work in the art room. The portfolio will focus on organizational skills and personal pride in student work. 

Assessments: Students will have an understanding of course expectations. Students will use the Portfolio for organizational skills in the classroom.

Days: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 ,10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

Activities:

2.  Introduction to Scratch Art. 

3. Scratch Art Tips.

4. Scratch Art practice paper pencil drawings. 

5. Scratch art 3 final projects. 

Objectives: Students will demonstrate the use of a variety of lines in scratch art design, use of pattern and positive & negative shapes in their work.  

Assessments: The art piece represents use of different types of line, neatness, effort put into the project and balance between positive and negative shapes.

Days: 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 

Activities:

Objectives: Students will learn about watercolor and develop techniques to create a final watercolor project. The techniques they will acquire are: bands of color, thick and thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush.

Assessments: Students will demonstrate knowledge of watercolor by using the following techniques in their final project: bands of color, thick and thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush.
