Objectives: Use color theory and elements and principles of design to chose colors and design elements when glazing their clay coil vessel. Use of three layers to create glaze that is evenly dispersed.

1. Flower Tree drawing with Oil Pastels - step by step 

Objectives: Create a Flower Tree drawing with Oil Pastels, using the following: rule of 3's, tints and shades, pressure blends, stippling, scrumbling, sgaffito and blending.

Assessments: A final work of art that resembles a Flower Tree using oil pastels and the following: rule of 3's, tints and shades, pressure blends, stippling, scrumbling, sgaffito and blending.

1. Review the history of Vincent Van Gogh.

2. Recreate Starry Night after our first experience with oil pastels and learning the techniques to build upon. Tutorial of a recreation of Starry Night using oil pastels.  

Objectives: Study history and artwork by Vincent Van Gogh to inspire their own oil pastel artwork. 

Assessments: Students will create an oil pastel artwork with inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Objectives: Create a tree drawing with oil pastels, using the following: rule of 3's, tints and shades, pressure blends, stippling, scrumbling, sgaffito and blending.

Assessments: A final work of art that resembles a tree using oil pastels and the following: rule of 3's, tints and shades, pressure blends, stippling, scrumbling, sgaffito and blending.

2. Watercolor. Revisit watercolor techniques: bands of color, thick and thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush. 

Homework: None.

Objective: Students learn watercolor techniques to create a watercolor piece. The techniques they will acquire are: bands of color, thick and thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush.

Assessment: Students will demonstrate knowledge of watercolor by using the following techniques in their final project: bands of color, thick and thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush.

Objectives(s): Use tools to emboss metal. Patina: use salt and vinegar to create oxidation on the embossed metal. Shape the metal into a triangular Byzantine Bell.
