Day 1

Activities:

1. Introduction and course expectations.

2. Make portfolio to store work in.

Objectives: Become familiar with the course expectations & projects. Use the portfolio to store work in the art room. The portfolio will focus on organizational skills and personal pride in student work.

Assessments: Students will have an understanding of course expectations. Students will use the portfolio for organizational skills in the classroom.

Standard(s): Create, Present, Respond, Connect

Days: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

Activities:

  1. Daily Doodle.

  2. Symmetry: Rubric, look at symmetrical images, and project details.

  3. How to layer and blend colored pencils.

Objective(s): Symmetrical Balance-The parts of an image or object organized so one side duplicates the other.

Assessment(s): The Symmetry Project will display symmetrical designs.
