Activities:
1. Introduction and course expectations.
2. Make Portfolio to store work in.
Objectives: Become familiar with the course expectations & projects. Use the Portfolio to store work in the art room. The portfolio will focus on organizational skills and personal pride in student work.
Assessments: Students will have an understanding of course expectations. Students will use the Portfolio for organizational skills in the classroom.

2. Introduction to Scratch Art.
4. Scratch Art practice paper pencil drawings.
5. Scratch art 3 final projects.
Objectives: Students will demonstrate the use of a variety of lines in scratch art design, use of pattern and positive & negative shapes in their work.
Assessments: The art piece represents use of different types of line, neatness, effort put into the project and balance between positive and negative shapes.

Watercolor Introduction: Emma Jane Lefebvre
Watercolor: Each class session students will learn and practice each of the following techniques:
Bands of color, thick & thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush.
Objectives: Students will learn about watercolor and develop techniques to create a final watercolor project. The techniques they will acquire are: bands of color, thick and thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush.
Assessments: Students will demonstrate knowledge of watercolor by using the following techniques in their final project: bands of color, thick and thin, wrist flick, painterly strokes, texture, cutting edges, wet-on-wet and dry brush.

Activities:
1. Daily Doodle 10 minutes.
2. Cultural Clay Jewelry project introduction research and sketches.
3. Create the the clay cultural jewelry project.
Homework: Project research, images and sketches.
Objective: Create clay jewelry using a culture study to incorporate your designs. Research a culture and incorporate symbolism from that culture into your necklace pieces.
Assessment: Students can discuss the culture they choose to represent in their clay jewelry piece and the symbolism that their jewelry piece represents.
