Statement of Intent: With the commencement of the industrial revolution, the Anthropocene Epoch began, signifying the impact of humankind on the natural world and catalysing the progression of climate change. Since, 83 species of mammals have gone extinct as a result of human impact, by poaching, deforestation and habitat fragmentation, as well as the increased frequency of natural disaster and severe weather. Through my collection of realistic artworks ‘Anthropocene’ I conveyed the urgency for change through the depiction of endangered animals from all over the world, reflecting this global-scale issue and the potential further detriment it will cause if action is not taken.
