Statement of Intent: We all have a collective memory – a set of events in time that, while unique to each of us, have a universality. My body of work captures the small and significant moments in my life. I present these images now as memories in the hope that the audience may relive and reminisce with me, and perhaps be reminded of a place or memory themselves. Capturing glimpses of memories creates a loose narrative. In the studio situation, I took raw black and white portraits which I then matched up to various colour landscapes and events. I have extended this with small polaroid-style watercolours and appropriate text – capturing significant places with significant people in my life.
