Title of Artwork: Unaveilable Aestheticism

Media Area: Photomedia

Statement of Intent: My body of work is an extended exploration of idealism and unattainable aesthetic expectations that ensnare young women in contemporary society. By photographing conventionally beautiful women through various semi-transparent mediums, I intend to evoke an ambiguous notion of disconnection and isolation. By suspending the work in a conceptual context, you are invited to explore the work through my guided insight or discern your own understanding. My creative process and installation design have been heavily influenced by renowned artists Christian Boltanksi and Bill Hensen as I studied their aesthetic processes. The Unaveilable Conditions of Temporal Aestheticism endeavours to prompt more questions than answers, and facilitate an echoed contemplation long after you experience the artwork.
