Statement of Intent: My body of work is a series of paintings that feature different women throughout different periods of history. They have either succeeded in their field which has opened up many opportunities for a lot of other women in the future. They may have also created a huge impact on their local community. The whole point of painting these women is to celebrate them and their contributions to the world, to other people, or to their communities. These portraits are in acrylic paint on paper and aim to show through poses and framing, the individuality and uniqueness of each person. Lucian Freud's portraits were a big inspiration to me while developing these pieces, along with Shepard Fairey's street art works.
