Statement of Intent: My collection of work represents a timeline of my own personal experience growing up with an undiagnosed eating disorder. Through the use of various mediums and techniques, my works explore a number of experiences in which I have been exposed to as a result of my disorder. Following a consecutive format, my artworks each represent a different age period and impact overview (e.g. social, physical and emotional), with intent to bring awareness and representation to what is now my diagnosis, ARFID. Being a newly recognised disorder, it took me 12 years to be diagnosed, which ultimately has made my recovery more difficult and left me with lasting impacts. With this artwork, I aim to bring to light to ARFID in the hope that it may assist another individual with their diagnosis.
