CROMER COURIER
In week 6, the CC library booked an adventure and celebrated Book Week with a range of activities for students and staff to participate in.
Our annual Raving reviews competition was a hit! Students reviewed a book of their choosing for the chance to win a special book prize.
Literacy classes were challenged with a quiz matching the staff to their favourite books - Congratulations to ISLTE for getting the most correct!
We also held fun lunch time bookmark making and book trivia activities.
As part of our Book Week events, we welcomed debut author Emma Schafer and her editor Lucy Mackie to CC Library!
Joined by the members of our English and Science Faculties, a group of enthusiastic young students enjoyed a fantastic Q&A session hosted by our Teacher/Librarian, Ms O’Neill.
Emma gave us a sneak peek into her upcoming Young Adult Crime Fiction novel The Stalker’s Muse and shared her writing process— from building characters to gathering ideas. She spoke about how Rick Riordan (author of the Percy Jackson series) and Karen M. McManus (author of the One of Us is Lying Series) inspired her writing and encouraged our young writers to write something every day to grow their skills.
Emma also spoke about self-publishing and how it allowed her to stay authentic, focused, and true to her story.
A huge thank you to Emma and Lucy for inspiring our students during Book Week!
The Cromer Campus Choir performed their Annual concert for the Dee Why Gardens residents celebrating intergenerational connections within our community.
