The NSW Public Education Awards acknowledge excellence across all NSW public schools. 

A ceremony was held at Town Hall and our very own P&C President Mrs Jackie Reavie was awarded the Public School Parent / Volunteer of the Year Award!

Congratulations Jackie and thank you on behalf of a grateful school community for all that you have done and are still doing for our great school.

A question we often get in the CC Library is how can I get my child to read? Below are some tips and resources to help you and your child on their reading journey. 

• Model reading at home and discuss what you are reading with your child.

• Find books that cater to your child's interests or books similar to ones they have enjoyed in the past.

• Visit your local public library together or encourage your child to visit the CC Library and chat to the Library staff.

• Your child may prefer reading graphic novels or magazines or non-fiction texts - this all counts as reading! As their reading confidence and attention span builds they can move to longer and more complex texts.

  A podcast to help you find the perfect next book for the young readers in your life. I recommend episode 214 ‘Encouraging reading at home’ (Start from 16 mins). 

• The CC Library website
  Check out the latest books in the library, our recommended reads guides and search our library catalogue. Your child will need to use their DET student login to access the website.
