At the recent Northern Beaches Secondary College Development Day, two of our staff members were recognised for their valuable contribution to the College.

As part of the NBSC Careers Advisers team Fiona Bird, our Wellbeing Head Teacher helped create the inaugural College Careers Expo. What started as an ambitious idea, turned into a highly successful college wide event. The Expo attracted 700 attendees and 35 exhibitors. Since then, many other schools and sectors have replicated the model.

A member of our super Admin team, Kylie Llewellyn was recognised for her role in the College website redesign team and managing the development of the Cromer section within it. This massive project was given to us during a very busy term 4 last year, so Kylie had to skilfully juggle multiple projects to get our new site ready to meet the publication deadline.

Cromer Campus hosted the first day of our annual Learning Conferences—a highlight of Education Week and a valuable opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to come together in celebration of learning.

Over 2 days, 1,000 student-led conversations will take place, and focus on personal learning goals that each student has set for themselves.

What makes these conferences so powerful is the ownership students take over their learning journey.  Students proudly share their progress, challenges, and achievements with their families and teachers. They reflect on what they’ve achieved, and grow in confidence by sharing their progress in their own words.

What a performance from our U14 Boys Rugby League team, who have progressed to the top 8 in NSW after a hard-fought 36–24 victory over a strong Maclean High School!

The boys showed incredible determination, teamwork and composure to get the job done and continue their Buckley Shield campaign. All of Yr 7 came to cheer on the team - and we are planning on taking a bus of supporters out to the next game. 

To now be ranked among the top eight CHS rugby league teams in the state is an outstanding achievement and there’s still more to come! We now face Chifley College in the next round of the Buckley Shield.

Since 2017, our Year 7 HSIE classes have looked forward to the 'Big Dig' -  a simulated archaeological dig in our purpose-built facility onsite. 

Our budding excavators had to solve a mystery of simulated human and animal remains, found with jeweled and gold-painted objects, and a collection of pottery shards. After using tools and teamwork to delicately extract the fragile artefacts, students needed to assess their discovery in the found context. 

Some hypotheses includes a meteor strike, a fire, and an astonishing volcanic eruption. 

Directly applicable to the History Syllabus's Investigating the Ancient Past topic, they will bring their practical experiences to bear when discussing local and international sites of historical significance.

Our Integrated Studies students have been busy developing valuable workplace and life skills through our exciting new school barista program!

Students recently attended a Barista course at TAFE one day a week for four weeks, where they learned skills and techniques to prepare quality coffee.

They are now putting their training into practice by helping others in the art of coffee making. From taking orders and preparing drinks to delivering coffees to staff, our student baristas are gaining hands-on experience while developing communication, customer service, teamwork, time management, and other important workplace skills.

We're so proud of the confidence, independence, and enthusiasm they are showing as they continue to build skills for the future. Well done!

As part of the Ourschool program, Cromer has a new resource to develop an Alumni network. Clare Smith will be funded by the program for 2 days per week to research, connect and plan for Alumni events.

The NBSC Cromer Campus Alumni Program is about celebrating and connecting our past students and inspiring and motivating our current students.

We’re creating a space for Alumni to stay involved, share their achievements and experiences, and give back to the community. Being part of an alumni community can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience.

We’re thrilled to announce that a short film by Daniel E, Callum L, Jack S and Xavier S has been selected as a finalist in the national 2026 REELise Film Festival competition! 

After walking the red carpet, their film will be showcased on the big screen at Ritz Cinemas, Randwick on Saturday, 29 August, and will also be livestreamed nationally.

Local bands Lorelei and Trepan featuring Cromer students from Year 10, 11 and 12 competed in this years' Northern Beaches Council's Northern Composure band comp. 

After winning their heats they progressed to the Final at the Northern Beaches PCYC on August 1.

Trepan (Armand S & Spencer W) took home 2nd place while Lorelai (Lachie B, Spencer W & Raph M) were awarded 3rd place!
