Session:
A UDL Approach to Disciplinary Literacy - K-12
A disciplinary literacy approach emphasizes the specialized knowledge and abilities possessed by those who create, communicate, and use knowledge within each of the disciplines. To address the needs of diverse student populations and to help all students access mandated curriculum, educators may consider Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a key to disciplinary literacy instruction. This session will address and outline specific UDL elements of representation, expression and engagement with practical takeaways to use in the classroom.
