About the Program

The ResponsiveEd Dual Credit Academy is a dual credit program built in partnership with ResponsiveEd, TEL Education and McMurry University.

Students have the ability to take rigorous college-level courses online that are flexible:  self-paced courses and assignments, 100% online, quick and easy access to grades, and exams proctored online at times that you request.  All tuition, textbooks and class materials come at zero cost for students and families making access to college courses as simple as possible.  Courses are accessed and managed through a learning management system maintained by TEL Education.

All courses are recognized by McMurry University, a SASCOC-accredited private, liveral arts university located in Abilene, TX.  McMurry University is dedicated to providing students with a high-quality education in a supportive environment, and is dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential.  All college courses are transferrable to most colleges and universities in the state of Texas and the U.S.

SESSIONS & PACING GUIDE

Our district has the flexibility to set rolling dates for 8, 12, or 16 week sessions.  If desired, we could even open up a session that can last up to 52 weeks.  This program provides us the ability to set session start and end dates that best meet the needs of our unique student populations.  Each course comes with a pacing guide for students to help them set goals and deadlines to complete modules and tests by.

EXAM PROCTORING

All midterm and final exams must be overseen by an authorized proctor who will ensure the identity of the test-taker and the integrity of the test-taking environment throughout the duration of the test.

TEL provides 2 options for administering exams:

Guidelines for self-proctoring

All proctoring must be completed in-person unless using TEL’s third-party proctoring service, MonitorEDU.

All proctors must be approved ahead of time by our Account Manager.  Please read through the Guidelines for Administering Exams and complete the Proctor Verification Form before allowing students to begin an exam.  The completed Proctor Verification Form must be sent back to our Account Manager on the same day the exam was taken.

PROGRAM ROLES

STAFF ORIENTATION COURSE

TEL offers a Partner Orientation Course that provides an asynchronous training experience on the TEL platform and the services provided.  It’s encouraged that all involved staff visit the Partner Orientation Course as it contains essential information about the TEL experience including platform features, how to best use your Site Manage account and how to view grades and reports.

COSTS & PAYMENTS

ResponsiveEd will pay for a student’s first Dual Credit course and up to 2 Dual Credit courses after successful completion (C or better) of the first.  The costs of these courses will be invoiced to ResponsiveEd’s CCMR Department and paid using Title IV CCMR funding and CCMR Bonus Outcomes funding.  There is no cost to the campus and absolutely no cost to the student.
