Taylor Swift’s fans are called Swifties and some BIG Swifties are obsessed with her because of her songs, because she writes from her life, which makes them easy to connect to.
She has 243 songs -that rock- and she has great vocals so, they make her songs sound great. They usually have a unique style, and a constant rhythm in the background. For example, in “You’re Losin’ Me", she has a heart beating in the background because in her song she mentions how her “heart can’t stop anymore.” She even started something called The Eras Tour and made a lot of money from it, 4.1 billion dollars!
But, the main reason she is popular is because in Taylor’s songs, she has many genres, and since she sings so many, she has become popular, one of her most famous songs is, of course, “Shake It Off.”
One of her most popular albums out of the 14 albums. I like Taylor Swift because her songs are catchy, inspire me, have many genres, and promote different emotions.
Rating - 9.5/10 Genre - Fiction
Heart of a Samurai, written by Margi Preus, takes place in 1841, and Manjiro, a teenage boy/main character, and his friends find themselves stranded on an island after a huge storm at sea. They are told this island is filled with mythical creatures and monsters. Now they all know that they can’t go back home to Japan since the gang knows the country’s borders are closed. Then, one day a whale shipping vessel passes close to the island and takes them on a ship –a whale shipping vessel is used to catch/lure whales.
Manjiro has made many mistakes while trying to do his best, but instead of failing, the captain invites him on board, to be his new “son”. This is a big deal to Manjiro, who is now full of glee. He has to say “yes” because he has tried his best. Later on, one day, he finds gold. He happily brags about it, but everyone thinks it is fake. One even says,” Fool’s gold!”
Manjiro is now sure that he and his friends are going to be sent away. Now that Manjiro is getting comfy here, he doesn’t want to leave the island.
I loved this book because it is packed with hard conflicts to solve and by working
together, the characters have a great time. I rated this 9.5 because in this book, one thing always leads to another!
Enjoy it!
